- Liquid stains
It is important to note that regardless of the spilled content, it is best to try to absorb as much of the liquid as possible with a paper towel before resorting to one of the cleaning solutions.
- Solid stains
Gently scrape the spilled content, without rubbing! In all cases, always clean from the edges to the center, to prevent the stain from spreading further.
- Wine stains
When red wine is spilled on the carpet, apply a little white wine on top to dilute it. Then, apply table salt to the stain, wait 10 minutes and then vacuum. Or, if you prefer, cover the stain with a cloth dampened in cold water and dab it lightly to extract the wine. It is important to remember that red wine stains must be removed as quickly as possible, because if you do not, the stain will turn purple and will be impossible to remove.
- Coffee or tea stains
In a bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of mild detergent, 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and ¼ of hot water. Apply the solution with a sponge and absorb with paper towels.
- Grease and oil stains
Greases and oils are thicker than other liquids and therefore require more care when removing.Cover the stain with salt, baking soda and cornstarch; let it sit for 10 minutes and then vacuum the area.
- Mud stains
Let the mud dry completely and then brush or scrape off as much as possible.
- Urine stains
Remove all excess urine with a dry cloth or paper towel. Then wipe the area with a cloth with water and mild detergent. Remove the mild detergent with a damp cloth and then apply a solution of ? warm water and 1 vinegar to eliminate the smell. Once done, wipe it with a dry cloth again to remove excess moisture.
